"I wrote this song right before I moved from the U.S. to Ireland back in 2022. My wife was pregnant and had gone back to Ireland a month before me. I was thinking a lot about the state of the world and what it would hold for our child. The perpetual war. The profit over everything corporate cult that runs the planet. The complete disregard for human life. The zombie-like obsession with screens and social media. Sometimes it feels like we’re living in a nightmare. I know there are a million amazing things about the world too, but the anticipation of bringing new life into this world made me focus on the things that need changing. I felt like I’d been holding on to some prayer for us to make a collective change, but I wasn’t really expressing it. So I wrote the song. But, for some reason, I held on to it for a couple years. In that time, it seemed like all of the things that inspired the song kept getting worse. I don't think holding on to my prayer was doing any good. So now I'm letting it out. 

The song was mixed by Victor Rice, and has a similar lineup of musicians from our recently released, Pulse EP. As always, I'm on guitar and vocals, with my right hand man, Matias, on keyboards. The tune features some of my closest friends, the New York based rhythm section of Rocky and Seth on bass and drums, with Seth adding backing vocals as well. In addition, we have Buenos Aires based musician and producer, Glik, of El Natty Combo on percussion. And finally three of Victor Rice's favorite Brazilian horn players, Paulo, Marcelo, and Jaziel on sax, trumpet, and trombone. Tracking took place in New York, Cork, Buenos Aires, and São Paulo."
